MICO Live Recording Quality: Resolution and Audio

What determines MICO Live recording quality and why a recorder cannot create detail that is absent from the public source.

Quality complaints often describe a recording as “360p” even when the file container is MP4. The container does not decide picture detail. Resolution, bitrate, source encoding and dropped segments do.

Source resolution comes first

MicoRec does not choose the camera settings used by a creator. If MICO publishes a 540p HLS rendition, the recorder cannot reconstruct a native 1080p image. Upscaling would increase file size without restoring lost detail.

Whenever the public codec is compatible, MicoRec preserves it instead of applying a lossy re-encode. MicoRec checks the output dimensions, duration and playback before delivery.

Bitrate affects motion

Two 720p videos can look very different. Low bitrate produces blocks and smearing during movement. High bitrate retains more detail but creates larger Telegram files. MicoRec preserves the stream rather than deliberately lowering bitrate for a test.

Why can a live appear to stutter?

Stutter can originate in the creator's upload, MICO's delivery or missing source media. MicoRec cannot invent frames that the public stream never delivered. It can verify the media it received before sending the final recording.

How is audio handled?

The recorder maps the public audio track when present. If MICO publishes video without audio, the result cannot add the creator's microphone. Codec changes in the middle of a live may require normalization before delivery.

Does Telegram reduce the file?

MicoRec sends the completed video with its player cover. Telegram playback may start with a lower-resolution preview, while downloading the delivered file provides the actual recording.
